Day 4 Thur (last day at Motswari)

Most of the guests have left leaving only Blake and my self.  I had already booked a private game drive with Chad and Blake was fortunate enough to have his own Drive with the Driver (Herold) and the Tracker (Difference) both had a wicked sense of humour.

I had planned my day’s drive before I left the UK but once I saw the terrain and the animals it had to be scrapped.  I bowed to Chad’s better knowledge of the game and the roads.  However, over the days I had seen Lovers Leap and giraffe kill road as well as many others.

We set off in search of the unusual and with using the 500mm lens we would not have to get very close but if we were then I could use it to photograph eyes and mouths (!).  As always when you start out first thing the day is either quiet of animals are on our doorstep.  The day was great fun and I spent most of my time looking for raptors to make best use of my long lens.

There were some things we did not achieve and others were just beyond words.  How can you describe the exhilaration of a leopard cub playing with is mum or the closeness when she walks so close she is under the last tier of seats on the land rover.

During the week some of the visitors had want to see Warthogs and Hippo out of the water and we had found none but to day we saw so many sightings and the Hippo in the rocks was most apt.

Well again enough of my chatter and get on with the images.
